Annual Report - Third Year Results

The results presented here are part of the Annual Report for May 2016 which completes the third year of the RAP3 implementation according to the LogFrame. The results are grouped by LogFrame Outcomes and Outputs including 1) Employment, 2) LRN, 3) SED and 4) Capacity Building and compared with targets for May 2016 and trajectories to March 2017. The LogFrame against which these results have been derived is attached in Annex 1.

Annual Review 2018

The Rural Access Programme Phase 3 (RAP3) contributes to DFID Nepal's twin objectives of ensuring no-one is left behind and delivering local economic growth. RAP3 does this by focusing on construction of new roads and maintenance of existing roads using labour based approaches. Road maintenance protects the value of infrastructure investments and provides basic access to poor rural communities.

Annual Report – Fifth Year Results

The results presented here are part of the Annual Report for June 2018 which completes the fifth year of the RAP3 implementation and is now based on the LogFrame revised for the 2018 DFID Annual Review. The results are grouped by LogFrame Outcomes and Outputs including 1) LRN, 2) Employment 3) CONNECT and 4) Capacity Building and compared with targets for June 2018 and trajectories to June 2019. The 2018 DFID Annual Review LogFrame against which these results have been compared is attached in Annex 1.

Trimester Report: March - June 2018

This report covers the progress of RAP3 over the Third Trimester of FY 2074-75, 16th March to 15 July 2018. It provides data and information relating to progress of RAP3 over the last Trimester and plans for the next Trimester. RAP3 was on track in meeting progress and financial targets set for the trimester period mid-March to mid-July 2018 (see page below). The key successes in the last trimester include: (a) Accomplished test drives of first 17km section of substantially completed new road in Mugu; (b) GIS training to IT technicians of Rural/Municipalities of 14 programme districts and RAP3 Graduate Engineers; (c) Pilot Term Maintenance using schedule of rates in DAD and DAI and road maintenance works by Specific Maintenance Groups (SMGs) in DAD, DOT, ACH, Dai and JUM completed; (d) Generated 430,371 employment days for poor households in 14 districts; (e) Equipment Based Road Works (EBRW) training in Mugu; (f) Climate resilience review of Nepal Rural Roads Standards; (g) Economic study of RAP roads; and (h) Connect leveraging from private sector in mid- and far-west.

Trimester Report: November 2017 - March 2018

This report covers the progress of RAP3 over the Second Trimester of FY 2074-75, 16th November 2017 to 15 March 2018. It provides data and information relating to progress of RAP3 over the last Trimester and plans for the next Trimester. RAP3 was on track in meeting progress and financial targets set for the trimester period mid-November 2017 to mid-March 2018 (see page iv). The key successes in the last trimester include: (a) Handover of 20km new road to Raskot Municipality in Kalikot; (b) Accomplished test drives of two substantially completed new roads in Bajura; (c) Second round of municipal workshops with 135 rural and urban municipalities to determine scope of RAP3 support to capacity building; (d) Third party financial audit of RAP3 spend; (e) Generated 423,925 employment days for poor households in 14 districts (f) Pilot Term Maintenance Programme using Schedule of Rates on going in core districts (g) CONNECT leveraging private sector funding for businesses in far west The main deliveries and activities for the next trimester (16 to 15 July 2018)

Progress Report on Media Campaign for Improved Interaction among Development Stakeholders in RAP3 Project District (January 2018 to March 2018)

This project progress report covers the activities from January 2018 to March 2018. During this reporting period AFN has produced 13 radio program episodes covering nine RAP 3 districts, namely Dadeldhura, Doti,Achham, Bajura, Dailekh,Humla, Jumla, Kalikot and Mugu. The program episodes were broadcast through 17 different radio stations of those districts and two other radio station from Banke and Kanchanpur district. And a field visit to conduct listeners' survey, audio collection and video capturing of road opening is carried out and 9 public hearing has been completed during this reporting period.
