The fast-flowing Mugu Karnali River during monsoon season impedes the movement of goods and people. Crossing the river has always been a major challenge and similarly with the rise in water level this year too, the project faced the challenge of getting the goods and materials across. This time, we have agreed with Mr. Padam Sejuwal, a resident of Chayanath Rara Municipality to have use of his private ropeway to cross the project goods. An ingenious way of crossing the river, that when compared to the distance of transporting goods through mules, the MHLR field team has the ropeway makes transportation easier and faster. It also means a number of bulky items that would not be possible to transport on mules is also able to be transported across the river in under 10 minutes!
