Belpata Dairy Cooperative

Dairy is a priority sub-sector for Dailekh and there is strong demand for milk and value added dairy products. Developing a scaled up commercial diary will enable inclusion of a wider base of milk producers in the value chain.

Programme activities will expand the milk producers supply chain in an inclusive manner with producers benefitting from scale-up of production and fair prices, demonstrating that commercial dairy is a viable business.

Milestones achieved during F.Y. 2016 - 2017 include:

  • 185 dairy farmers with buy back contracts
  • 38 dairy farmers in BDC's supply chain issued livestock insurance policies
  • 21 dairy farmers in BDC's supply chain opened bank accounts
  • Milk collection increased to 33.261 litres
